Why Digital Wellbeing?
The tools that connect us can quietly run us
The modern workplace relies on digital technology to get things done — and those same tools bring a whole new set of problems alongside their innovative solutions. Notifications fragment our attention. Work never quite switches off. Energy leaks away.
Anna has watched this unfold for over two decades. Since writing her Master’s thesis on identity in cyberspace — back when chat rooms were the bedrock of our online lives — she has tracked how digital and social media have transformed the way we communicate, make decisions and ultimately live.
Her conclusion is simple: people are at the heart of the change. Digital wellbeing isn’t about giving up technology; it’s about using it on your own terms, with intention, so it serves your work and your life rather than the other way around.
That’s what this coaching is for — bringing the human being back into a world that too often rewards the human doing.
Fragmented attention
Constant notifications and context-switching leave little room for the deep focus good work needs.
Always-on work
When work follows you home through a screen, the boundary between on and off quietly disappears.
Communication overload
Email, chat and back-to-back calls can crowd out the thinking and connection that actually move things forward.
Depleted energy
What We’ll be Working on together
Practical, personal, and built around your world
Every coaching relationship is different. These are the themes that come up most often — we’ll focus on the ones that matter to you.
Attention & focus
Reclaim deep work from the pull of the notification.
Understand what fragments your focus and design your day, your devices and your environment to protect it.
Boundaries with always-on work
Decide when you’re available — and when you’re not.
Build sustainable boundaries around availability, switching off and the after-hours creep of digital work.
Healthier digital habits
Notice the habits that don’t serve you, understand how they’re engineered, and replace them with ones that do.
Resilience & energy
Protect the fuel that keeps you well at work.
Strengthen purpose, positive mindset and the way you manage emotions and physical energy under digital pressure.
Communication overload
Tame the email, chat and meeting tide.
Communicate with intent, reduce the noise, and reclaim the time and headspace for work that matters.
Presence & connection
Be with the people, not the screen.
Bring more presence to conversations, colleagues and life beyond the device — the human side of a digital world..
The Approach
Led by you, grounded in science
This is coaching, not a lecture. Anna starts where you are, not where she is — and the goals are always yours. Drawing on social neuroscience, behavioural insights and the science of wellbeing, she helps you turn insights into habits you hold.
Person-centred & confidential
Rooted in the science
Behavioural insights, social neuroscience and Yale’s Science of Happiness inform the work — plus humane-technology thinking on how digital products are designed to capture us.
From insight to action
Resilience built in
How it Works
Simple to start. Shaped entirely around you.
You won’t fill in a long form or be passed around. You talk directly to Anna, and the coaching is built around your goals and your pace.
Discovery call
A relaxed, no-obligation conversation about what’s going on for you and what you’d like to be different.
Set your goals
Together we agree the focus and the outcomes that matter to you. The goals are yours — a resource, never a mandate.
Coaching sessions
Confidential 1:1 sessions, in person or online, at a cadence that fits your life — usually a short, focused series.
Review & embed
We reflect on progress and lock in the habits, boundaries and mindset shifts so the change actually sticks.
Why Anna?
A coach genuinely qualified in this space
Digital wellbeing sits at the exact intersection of Anna’s academic background, her coaching practice and twenty years of helping people thrive at work. She doesn’t just coach around technology — she has studied it, taught it and lived its evolution since the earliest days of online community.
She holds an MA in Sociology, wrote her thesis on identity in cyberspace, and has spent two decades helping professionals understand the digitally disrupted lives we all lead.

Feedback

Tariq
Team Leader
“I thought digital wellbeing meant spending less time on screens. Coaching helped me see that it was also about how I use technology, how I feel when I’m online and whether my digital habits reflect my priorities.
I’ve made small, realistic changes that feel sustainable. I now have a better sense of choice over my attention, energy and time.”

Laura
Operations Director
“Our team had become overwhelmed by meetings, chat messages and too many competing communication channels.
Digital wellbeing coaching helped me look at the habits and expectations we had created together. We’ve started agreeing when to meet, when to message and when to protect time for concentrated work.
It has opened up a much better conversation about how we want to work.”

Ellie
Head of People & Culture
“I often reached for my phone whenever I had a spare moment, even when I was tired or needed a break.
Coaching helped me become curious about that habit rather than beating myself up about it.
I’ve found alternatives that help me recharge, and I’m more conscious of how I spend my time away from work.”
Common questions
Is coaching confidential?
Yes. Sessions are a private, confidential space. What you share stays between you and Anna, in line with the ICF coaching ethics she works to. Where coaching is sponsored by an employer, the focus and any shared outcomes are agreed openly with you in advance.
Is this for individuals or teams?
Both. Digital Wellbeing Coaching works as confidential 1:1 coaching, and as small-group coaching for teams who want to build healthier digital habits together. It also sits well alongside Luminescence training and leadership programmes.
In person or virtual?
Either. Anna coaches in person around Cambridge and across the UK, and online via video for clients anywhere. Many people mix the two.
How many sessions will I need?
It’s bespoke. Some people want a short, focused series to tackle a specific issue; others prefer ongoing sessions over a longer period. We’ll discuss what suits you on the discovery call — there’s no one-size-fits-all package.
Do I need to give up my devices?
No. This isn’t about digital detox or going off-grid. It’s about using technology with intention, so it works for you. The aim is a healthier, more deliberate relationship with the digital tools your work depends on.
