Something needs to change?

Luminescence coaching is ICF-accredited and rooted in the Barefoot® approach — an eclectic, evidence-based model that draws on a wide range of psychological traditions. It adapts to you, not the other way around.

A coach doesn’t tell you what to do. They create the conditions in which you can work it out for yourself — with more depth, more rigour and more honesty than you’d manage alone, or in a conversation with someone who has a stake in the outcome.

Luminescence coaching combines the Barefoot® psychological framework with deep grounding in social neuroscience, behavioural insights, and access to psychometric tools — Emergenetics®, RQi® and Motivational Maps® — where these add value to the coaching relationship.

COACHING IS

✓ Space to think — free from daily pressure

✓ Powerful questions you haven’t asked yourself

✓ Complete confidentiality

✓ Honest challenge alongside genuine support

✓ Goals and accountability that you own

✓ Progress in behaviour, confidence and decisions

COACHING IS NOT

✕ Advice on what to decide

✕ Mentoring or therapy

✕ A quick fix

✕ Cheerleading or uncritical validation

✕ The coach’s agenda on your situation

✕ Effective without your full commitment

Does any of this sound familiar?

Whether you’re an individual at a crossroads, a manager trying to get more from your team, or an HR professional looking for tools with real rigour behind them — there’s a Luminescence service designed for exactly where you are.

YOU'VE PLATEAUED — AND YOU KNOW IT

You’re capable. But the role no longer stretches you, and you’re not sure what comes next or how to get there.

YOUR TEAM ISN'T WORKING AS WELL AS IT SHOULD

Collaboration is strained, communication keeps breaking down, and you’re not sure if it’s personality or something deeper.

STRESS IS BUILDING — FOR YOU OR YOUR PEOPLE

You can see the pressure mounting. You want something evidence-based that actually measures what’s happening and points to what to do.

ENGAGEMENT IS LOWER THAN YOU'D LIKE

People are showing up — but not bringing their full energy. You want to understand what’s driving that and how to shift it.

YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND YOURSELF BETTER

You have a sense of what motivates you, how you think, where your resilience is strong — but you’ve never had it clearly mapped out.

YOU'RE READY TO INVEST — PROPERLY

Not a one-size-fits-all workshop. You want something tailored, evidence-based, and followed up. Something that actually changes things.

How Coaching Works:

1: Chemistry conversation

A free 30-minute call — no commitment — to explore whether Luminescence coaching is the right fit.

2: Contracting session

We agree focus, structure, confidentiality terms and what success looks like before coaching begins.

3: Coaching sessions

Typically 6–8 sessions of 60–90 minutes, fortnightly or monthly — online or in person.

4: Review & close

A final session to consolidate progress, celebrate what’s changed, and agree what comes next.

Coaching can be commissioned privately or funded by an organisation. Where an organisation sponsors coaching, Luminescence works to a tri-party agreement that protects the full confidentiality of the coaching relationship.

PROFESSIONAL COACHING STANDARDS

Grounded in the ICF core competencies Luminescence coaching is structured around the eight core competencies of the International Coaching Federation — the global gold standard for professional coaching.

How Luminescence Coaching Works: Five Principles

U

You set the agenda

Every session starts with what matters to you right now. The conversation goes where it needs to go.

Deep listening — without judgment

Our coaches listen at a level most people rarely experience. That quality of attention changes the quality of your thinking.

High support and high challenge

Genuine warmth and honest challenge. Not comfortable coasting. The place where real movement happens.

Grounded in neuroscience

Understanding how the brain responds to stress, change and threat is woven into the coaching relationship and the tools we use.

Complete confidentiality

Everything said in coaching stays in coaching. Luminescence holds that boundary without exception.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Is coaching right for me if I'm not sure what I want?

Many coaching engagements begin with a sense that something needs to change, without a clear picture of what that looks like. Part of the work is helping you get that clarity. You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed goal.

What's the difference between coaching and the psychometric tools?

Coaching is a confidential, goal-focused conversation process — ongoing, structured, and led by you. The psychometric tools (Emergenetics®, RQi® and Motivational Maps®) are assessment instruments that produce a detailed, data-based report about how you think, how resilient you are, or what motivates you. They are often most powerful when used together — the psychometric gives you the map, coaching helps you navigate it.

Can I commission just one of the psychometric tools without coaching?

Yes. Each of the three psychometric services can be commissioned as a standalone service. You’ll receive the profile assessment, a personalised report, and a debrief session with a certified Luminescence practitioner.

Which psychometric tool is right for me or my team?

It depends on what you’re trying to understand. Emergenetics® is best for illuminating how people think and communicate differently — ideal for teams, leadership development and away days. RQi® is best for understanding and building resilience — ideal when stress, burnout or sustained pressure is concern. Motivational Maps® is best for understanding what drives people and why engagement might be dropping — ideal for managers, HR teams and coaching conversations.

How many coaching sessions will I need?

A typical coaching engagement runs for 6 to 8 sessions over three to six months. This is agreed during the contracting session and can be revisited.

Can my employer fund my coaching?

Yes. Coaching can be commissioned privately or funded by an organisation. Where an organisation sponsors coaching, Luminescence works to a tri-party agreement that clearly protects the confidentiality of the coaching conversation.

Is coaching delivered online or in person?

Both. Online via Zoom or Teams is most common. In-person sessions in Cambridge are available by arrangement.
